42 – 45 Mosque Street

42-45 Mosque Street is 2 pairs of Conservation Shophouse located within the historic Chinatown. The conserved shophouses used to be homes of custom officers during the British Colonial days. Today they were restored as upscale apartments at the upper storeys and commercial shop spaces below.

We were approached by the client to improve the quality of the shophouse to continue its current use. Without major disruption to the existing building design, we improve the entrances of the premises to enhance the artistic feel of the conserved element, and adding a modern touch to the common lift lobbies. Two residential units on the top most storey were refurbished to open style modern apartments – embracing the charm of modern living in a heritage space.
