The National Youth Council Academy wants to refurbish the interior of their Youth Facility at Somerset Road and reposition themselves to attract the young-adults age group of users. Our idea was to apply an internalized outdoor space concept and create lively interiors that youths are familiar with. The intent was to create a look that was anti-establishment as a main draw. For example, we combined the idea of an indoor skate-park with a meeting room and integrated stepped amphitheater seating within an open office layout, as an effort to rethink the common office setting.
